This blog contains screenshots from public websites that I have used to then give examples of things I found useful and things I think could have been done differently, These ideas and examples will allow me to take these into my Web Assessment 1 project
Shield Security Operations Department | Unique Website
Homepage | shieldsecurity.my.canva.site
Below homepage | shieldsecurity.my.canva.site
I found the layout of the page/section "quick links" for the homepage, were really helpful to quickly navigate the homepage. But I also found it great that the different pages/ sites were list at the top of the website or tho I think it would have been better if it had page links at the bottom of the site as well not just at the top of the page.
S.H.I.E.L.D Security | shieldsecurity.odoo.com
Homepage
Layout wise I don't really mind it, however the site is a little black and white for my liking, This site feels more up front and wants you to contact them to see if they can help you in anyway, but unlike Shield security they have a front desk chat bot to aid users to find things through out the website, and its pages. Navigation wise it clearly displays "Home, About us & Contact us" but they also display it again on the right hand side, which is a little weird.
The Warehouse NZ
https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/
Authestic wise I love the bright colours, I also love the layout, it allows users to find things quickly, the only thing is they have used a drop down box window that contains all the Categories for The Warehouse. also they have these round cicrles that display diffrenet things on them inculding other ways to find other pages like the categories page, or pets, toys, or new & trending items. but the one thing most important they update it to inculde upcoming event like for example fathers day.

This is the drop down box I was meaning above, but just like shield security operations department, they also have a chat system, were agents / bots can take messages for them to get in touch with the client.
Xbox | Microsoft
Players are able to see new games that get displayed on the front page of Xbox, They have a couple navigation options along the top ribbin, and just like The Warehouse they also use a drop down box system for most of there navigation options.
Unlike The Warehouse they make you click on the option you want rather than if you hover over it, there is pros and cons to this just like with anything else.
However I actully preffer to click on the navigation drop down and then use the sections to find the page or section I want instead of just hovering over somethings as they don't stay open unles you hover over it.
Mircosoft
Welcome to Mircosoft, there is some minor things I can say about them, but unlike Xbox they have split all the Microsoft products up, their main website is for updating users or imforming them of new tech that they have just relased, but also they use it as their flagship it contains links to Onedrive, Outlook, OneNote, Teams, Access, Publisher, Word (They call this Office 365) and Xbox all these links are links to pages that they also own and promote the product that they have on that page, e.g. they will use the Teams page to post updates and contain the latest updates and download for Microsoft Teams, just like the same for Onedrive or Outlook.
Austhic I actully like if feels open and feels like your in control and whatever you do on the site is up to you, but also antoher note able thing would be how they display things to users, They give notices like this to let users have the chance to try something new they may not have known they had access to before.
Homepage
Lets talk advertisement, I love the pictures and banner that rotate to display diffrent things like large store sales and other bonus deals. I also like how they use bright colours to make the website pop the words out, the yellow combined with the black text and the black comibined with the white text. but also the text they used
EB Games | New Zealand
Homepage
Just like with JB Hi-Fi I love the fact that the top banner changes displays to show all the new games or discounted clearance items, but also they make it very simple to find games for a wide range of platforms or just just by sorting by that one platform e.g. Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox one, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
The other thing I really like is they have a place to find games that other people have bought and handed in that they don't play anymore, this is a great way for games to get more sales.
Land Rover / Range Rover | New Zealand
Homepage
Aestically I actully like the simple feel by do feel like the site has more potental, I feel like with this site it very pushie, and my reason for this is beacuse along the top ribbion navigation they display "Veheicles" which then takes you to their page on all the veheicle types that they produce. and then purchase, containing diffrent options like buying a brand new Range Rover or buying used or company use veheicles. I love their banner tho they have made it so that is has videos on the banner that once finish move to the next Range Rover on the banner.
One thing that I'm a little surpirsed that they don't have is a chat system for potental clients to ask important questions that they need asnwer to, I have a feeling they like more in person communcation rather than online chat systems.
Audi Southern Motor Group | New Zealand
Homepage
I love how warm and inviting the site feels, The image shows of an Audi Q5 and a woman approcing it, I feel if this is to show that they want you to have one of their cars as your own. They also have many use full pages like servicing and parts vehicles they offer and about them and their branding.
This was one of the first things that cought my eye as soon as I load onto the website, it's as if they want you join their happy family. warm and inviting, also they make it really easy for if you need help with any numbers or anything at all that they could possibly answer.
